The App that’s Keeping My New Years Resolutions Going Strong
Like a lot of people, I made several new years resolutions this year. New years resolutions aren’t a new thing for me, but what is new: I’m actually keeping mine. I know, I know, it’s only been about a week into the new year, but I’m feeling good so far. One of my resolutions, meditating every day, I’ve kept up with so far!
Before you line up to pat me on the back, I need to give credit where credit is due. Wonderful Day, an iPhone app designed to help you keep a streak going, has been critical to any success I’ve enjoyed thus far. It’s a really simple design yet highly effective.
There’s nothing more satisfying than crossing something off a to-do list. Wonderful Day takes that into account and gives you the power to gain that satisfaction day after day. I’ve programmed yoga, meditation and writing into my app, and I’ve been doing more of each than I ever would have otherwise.
I learned about Wonderful Day when Adam Dachis from LifeHacker was interviewed about the app on NPR on New Years Day. It couldn’t have been more fortuitous timing. I wouldn’t be well on my way towards a fantastic new routine without Wonderful Day and I have LifeHacker to thank.
I’m writing this blog post, not only because Wonderful Day reminded me to, but also to pay my debt of gratitude forward. If you’re looking to keep yourself on task for a new years resolution, or just about any other habit you’re trying to form, I can’t recommend Wonderful Day enough.
